Okezone.com is an online Indonesian news and entertainment portal.[2]

Officially launched on 1 March 2007, the portal was originally owned by Media Nusantara Citra, a company that also manages several other media businesses such as television, print media and radio networks.[3] Since July 2012, it is owned by the Chinese Linktone.

Overview

In October 2008, a year after its operations started, the site was ranked 28th most popular website in Indonesia according to Alexa.com.

Okezone reported on general matters[4] such as: politics, events, international, economy, lifestyle, celebrities, sports, auto, technology, and others.[5]

Based on data accessed through alexa.com in May 2020, Okezone.com ranked 23rd out of the top 100 most popular websites globally, and number one in Indonesia.[6]

The website is particularly popular[7] within the Indonesian expats community living abroad in countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Japan and the United States.[8]
