Oleg Chorny (Ukrainian: Оле́г Володи́мирович Чо́рний; born 9 February, 1963) is a Ukrainian film director, scriptwriter, and media artist. He has created a number of fiction shorts, documentaries, music videos, ecological and promo films, art videos.

Biography[edit]

Born in1963. Graduated from the film director’s department of the Kyiv State Institute of Theatrical Arts in 1985. Worked at the Olexander Dovzhenko State Film Studio in Kyiv, various governmental and non-governmental film and video studios.

Shot a number of fiction shorts, short and full length documentaries, ecological and promo films, music videos and art videos.

He is member of the Ukrainian Association of Cinematographers[1], Ukrainian Film Academy and Nomadic University for Art, Philosophy and Enterprise in Europe.

His short fiction films, documentaries, art videos have been shown at numerous Ukrainian and international festivals and exhibition.

In 1996 Oleg Chorny and Gennadiy Khmaruk founded the non-profit creative unit, Sampled Pictures. A number of videos created by Sampled Pictures have been presented at various film and video festivals, exhibitions and club screenings.
