Olga Markes (Doronina) is a Russian songwriter, musician and entrepreneur who is best known as the lead vocalist and primary songwriter of the band Alai Oli.
Biography: Olga Markes (Doronina) was born in the family of Andrey and Anna Ufimcev in Yekaterinburg.
Olga remembers in one of her interviews: «I was really sick before my fourth Birthday. My Dad didn’t have a good job at the moment, so he was working as a cab driver day and night with his old little car, just so he could buy a record player for me so I could listen to some fairy tales on vinyl while sick at home. Those fairy tales had a lot of music and songs, and I spent so much time sick in bed listening to those over and over again. I think this is a big part of what made me love music»[1].
Olga graduated from The Linguistic High School №70 of Ekaterinburg and later from The Ural State University in 2009 getting a degree in television journalism. Olga started writing her first songs in her 9th grade, although she never studied music at a school. Together with Alexander Fedotovskikh (Shapovski) they started a band Alai Oli in 2014. The whole band moved to Saint-Peterburg after meeting the art manager Artem Dertev in 2009. Moving there offered a lot more opportunities to the band.
Olga married the writer Andrey Doronin. Their first son, Yeji, was born on June, 3, 2013. Their second son, Miron, was born on July, 25, 2015. The couple divorced in 2018. Both children stayed to live with their mother.
Olga published her first book about health nutrition named “What should I eat to lose weight” in 2017. [2]
Olga gave birth to her third son, Roman, in 2019.
