Olga Savary
Olga Savary (Belém, May 21, 1933) is a Brazilian writer and translator.[1][2]
Life
Her mother, Célia Nobre de Almeida, was from Pará, and her father Bruno was a Russian engineer. She spent her childhood in Belém, Monte Alegre, Fortaleza and Rio de Janeiro.
In 1942, her parents separated and Olga went to live with his mother's brother in Rio de Janeiro. There, she began her love for writing. Her mother preferred a music career for her and Olga hid her writings, and a librarian friend from ABI used to keep them. Living together became very difficult for mother and daughter, and when Olga was 16, she considered living with her father.
When she was 18, she came back to Belém and studied at the Colégio Moderno, she later came back to Rio.
She has worked for several publications and is a PEN Club member.
