Olivier Khatib is a French–British data scientist, AI engineer, and entrepreneur best known as the founder and chief executive officer of DATANEO, an AI-native enterprise operating system that integrates business applications and workflows using contextual reasoning and automation. Before founding DATANEO, he led large-scale data and machine-learning programmes for global financial institutions through his consultancy, London Data Consulting (LDC), working with organisations such as HSBC, Bank of America, AXA, BNP Paribas and Clear Channel.
Early life and education
Khatib studied economics at the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne before completing two master's degrees at Imperial College London: an MSc in Computing Science and an MSc in Management. His academic work included research on machine learning, neural networks, natural language processing and predictive modelling applied to financial markets and medical imaging.
Career
Early work in quantitative finance
Khatib began his career working in quantitative modelling and machine-learning research at institutions such as AXA Investment Managers and AllianceBernstein. His work included neural networks for financial prediction, natural-language processing for investment research, and large-scale data-engineering pipelines for asset-management teams.
London Data Consulting (LDC)
In 2019, Khatib founded London Data Consulting (LDC), a consultancy focused on data engineering, automation and machine learning. LDC delivered programmes for major banks and insurers, including:
- automation of internal financial-reporting workflows,
- data platforms using cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS and GCP,
- predictive and NLP systems for operational efficiency,
- large-scale integration and governance frameworks.
Through these deployments, Khatib gained visibility across dozens of enterprise environments, observing recurring structural issues in data fragmentation and system silos.
Founding of DATANEO
Khatib founded DATANEO in 2024 to address the architectural limitations of traditional enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. The platform is built as an AI-native operating system, using a contextual reasoning engine (NeoMind™) and the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to unify finance, CRM, HR, operations, logistics and analytics into a single intelligent layer.
DATANEO allows companies to:
- connect multiple business systems instantly through SaaS and API-first infrastructure,
- ask natural-language questions across live operational data,
- automate workflows using cross-system reasoning,
- replace or augment legacy ERP deployments.
Under Khatib’s leadership, DATANEO expanded from Europe to New York, targeting mid-market and enterprise customers.
Contributions
Khatib is known for contributions in:
- AI-driven business automation — systems for forecasting, anomaly detection and workflow orchestration.
- MCP-based enterprise integration — applying the Model Context Protocol to real-time operational data.
- Data-driven process optimisation — automation platforms that reduced operational workload and manual processing for financial and media organisations.
- Enterprise architecture modernisation — advocating for distributed, AI-native replacements for 1990s-era ERP systems.
Publications
Khatib has authored technical work and thought-leadership pieces in areas such as enterprise AI, context reasoning and automation. His academic and industry publications appear on platforms including arXiv and Google Scholar.
Recognition
He has been invited to speak at technology and data conferences in Europe and the Middle East, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA). Khatib is recognised for his expertise in applied machine learning, enterprise data engineering and distributed AI systems.
