Olympe Amaury (née Vignel; 19 June 1901 – 12 May 2015)[2] was a French supercentenarian, who was the oldest living person in France from 2 April 2015[3] until her death on 12 May 2015. She was the second oldest living person in Europe behind Emma Morano of Italy, and the 12th oldest living person in the world.

Biography

Amaury was born in Tracy-sur-Loire, France on 19 June 1901. She married Gaspard Bernard Amaury in Tracy-sur-Loire on 31 May 1924. She had four children (Ginette, Jacques, Michel and Claude). From 2003 until her death she lived in a retirement home in Amilly. She had five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. [4][5]

She died at the age of 113 years and 327 days on 12 May 2015.[6] Following her death, the oldest French person is Eudoxie Baboul of French Guiana.[7]
