Omar Juweinat (born September 2, 1942) is an Australian lawyer. He served as the defense lawyer of Milton Orkopoulos[1], a former politician and convicted sex offender as well as cult leader William "The Pebble" Kamm[2] and Hells Angels Australia chapter boss Suvat Sarmisaklioglu.[3]
Former Australian barrister and present columnist for The Sydney Morning Herald, Charles Waterstreet has referred to him as "Juryrat".[4]
He is associated with the New South Wales based criminal law firm Aquilla Lawyers.[5] Juweinat is a member of the Law Society of New South Wales, the Australian Lawyers Alliance and the Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, New South Wales.
Early Career[edit]
In his early career, Juweinat worked under the instruction of Peter Hamill, who is presently a supreme court judge in New South Wales.[6]
He also was employed as a lawyer for the Aboriginal Legal Service (NSW/ACT), based in Dubbo, New South Wales.

Juweinat presented individuals who have been at the center of the Australian media, because of the serious nature of their crimes committed. Some of his clients include:

- Mohammed Skaf, gang rapist known for the Sydney Gang Rapes.[12]
- Evie Amati, a transgender who started "de-transitioning" in prison and was responsible for an axe attack in a convenience store in Western Sydney.[13]
- Buffy Nguyen also referred to as Benjamin Phi Kinoial, accused of being accessory to the murder of Robert Tran.[14]
- Francois Schwartz, known for killing personal trainer and bodybuilder Bradley Sooper who entered his home.[15]
