"One Year Later" (Korean: 1년 後) is a duet ballad song performed by Jessica Jung of Girls' Generation and Onew of Shinee. The song was included as the finishing track in Girls' Generation's second EP Tell Me Your Wish (Genie) that was released on June 29, 2009 under the record label of S.M. Entertainment.[1]
Production[edit]
The arrangement and composition of the ballad was handled by South Korean record producer Kim Jin Hwan who also penned the lyrics. Jin Hwan later also collaborated with Girls' Generation on the song "Yeongwon-hi Neowa Kkumkkugo Sipda" from their second Korean studio album Oh!. According to S.M. Entertainment, the lyrics of the piece talk about the two lovers who brokeup and parted but meet once again a year later.[2]
Promotion[edit]
The song was performed multiple times on Show! Music Core, first stage being presented on August 1, 2009[3] and the last on August 29.[4] "One Year Later" was then included in the set lists of almost all concerts of Girls' Generation's first Asia tour Into the New World which began on December 19, 2009 and ended nearly a year later on October 17, 2010. The duo once again teamed up for a stage on MBC's Girls' Generation’s Christmas Fairy Tale show that aired on December 24, 2011.[5]
