Onia, a brand name derived from the Hebrew word for "ship", was launched in 2009 as a men's and boys' swimwear collection, primarily featuring swim trunks that look like walking shorts.[1][2][3]
Onia products are sold at Barneys New York,[1][4] Saks Fifth Avenue,[1][4] Liberty of London,[5] The Four Seasons,[4] and various other shops.[1] Onia shorts have appeared in The New York Times[6] and fashion publications such as GQ[7] and Women's Wear Daily.[8]
