The Online Learning Secondary (often shortened to the OLS) is an online high school program serving Saskatchewan students in grades 9 to 12, as well as adult students through Blackboard Learn. The program was founded in 2001,[1] and is operated within Marion M. Graham Collegiate, which itself is in the north end of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, serving Silverwood Heights, Lawson Heights, River Heights, Richmond Heights, and North Park neighbourhoods. The program, despite its physical origin, is available to all Saskatoon high school students and officially has no feeder schools. The program was created and is maintained by the Saskatoon Public School Division.

Unlike many Saskatoon public schools, the Online Learning Secondary lacks any name that connects with local real-world figures. Instead, the program initially fell under the name of the Online Learning Centre, which applied to both the elementary and secondary portions of the program. The name of the program was eventually updated, with the Online Learning Secondary and Online Learning Elementary becoming the respective titles for the two portions of the program to avoid confusion between the two.[2]

The Online Learning Secondary, like many other high schools in Saskatoon, offers a complete French Immersion program[3] but also features the Adult 12 Program, which allows adult students to take select 11th and 12th-grade courses.[4] The program does not specialize in any particular subject of interest like arts or athletics, though recently has begun to introduce variations of traditional public courses to diversify the program's offerings to students.[5][6]

Esports[edit]

While the program for most of its history lacked any extracurricular groups, clubs or sports that other Saskatoon public high schools would normally feature, it attained a fully online Esports team starting in late 2021 under a partnership with the scholastic esports organization PlayVS.[7] The Online Learning Secondary's team competed online with several other schools across both Canada and the United States, placing 13th in the Fall 2021 Rocket League Mountain Region Playoffs.
