Onward Rides is a San Francisco based company founded in the year 2018 by Mike P. Lewis and Nader Akhnoukh. Onward provides round-trip, door-to-door rides for older adults or those who need extra assistance.

Overview

Onward has three types of older customers: those who are unable to drive, those who are unable to drive for medical reasons, and those who are unable to provide transportation for their older relatives.

Onward drivers are paid a minimum of $20 per hour. Onward drivers are trained in CPR, dementia, background checks, car inspections, and folding wheelchairs. Onward provides driver waiting time with round trip rides and door-to-door assistance at each stop. Onward completed its first ride in the San Francisco Bay Area in early 2019. As of June 2019, Onward had completed more than 500 trips.[1]

Funding

Onward Rides raised $1.5M in funding in a Seed round. Onward raised its funding from JPK Capital, Matchstick Ventures, and Royal Street Ventures.[1][2][3]
