Chukwudera Emmanuel Okoye (born March 23, 1975), better known by his stage name Oodera, is a Nigerian singer and a songwriter. He is also the founder of Deepwell Entertainment, the former record labels of artists like Slowdog and Quincy[1][2][3]
Personal life[edit]
Chukwudera Emmanuel Okoye is from Nri in Anambra State. He is one of seven children of Mr and Mrs Alfred Okoye. He is married to Ngozi odera-okoye[1]
Education[edit]
His early education of primary and secondary spans from 1982 to 1993. During this time he attended Arochukwu town school and Aggrey memorial secondary school both Arochukwu respectively. His tertiary education was in University of Nigeria where he acquired his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Agricultural engineering in 2001[1]
Career[edit]
His music career started officially in 2014 with his debut single “ E go better”[1][4][5][6] He started his record label label “Deepwell Entertainment” in 2015 with the intention of promoting indigenous artists of South East (Nigeria) origin[1][7]In 2016, his video mama Africa was nominated in the Nigerian Music Video Awards in the best afrobeat video category alongside Olamide, D'banj and Tiwa Savage[8] As both an NGO and a Music Company he went into partnership with 2 artists relevant in South East Nigerian Music, Slowdog and Quincy to help propel the company[1][2] They released a collaborative single in light of the partnership. In 2019 he worked with Kcee (musician) and Ruffcoin on separate singles[3]. In early 2021, he collaborated with Deejay Association of Nigeria Enugu Chapter to host an music event which featured artists like Mr Raw, Faze (musician) amongst others[9][10]
