Caleb Hunter Phelps (born August 29, 1996), better known as Oompaville is an American YouTuber known for his comedic gaming and commentary videos and reactions. He is best known for making videos of him reacting to memes and Twitch clips, going to Omegle, and commentating on YouTube drama and trending news events. Caleb is a co-host of SomeOrdinaryPodcast alongside YouTuber SomeOrdinaryGamers and Nux taku.

He has also worked as founder and CEO of the Sour Boys sour candy company.

His channel has approximately 4 million subscribers and 653 million views.

Early life and education

Caleb was born on August 29, 1996 in Virginia, United States. He is mostly of Italian descent and Mexican descent, and his great grandmother was from Syria. When Phelps was a young child, he was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome (now known as Autism Spectrum Disorder) and mentions his struggles with this disorder in his videos frequently.

Career

YouTube Career

Caleb started his YouTube channel on November 19, 2010. He posted his first video there in December of 2010. Originally known for making gaming videos, he has since removed any of his gaming videos prior to May 31, 2019 and mainly uploads videos of him reacting to memes, but will upload gaming videos from time to time. His first video was made on May 31, 2019. He has uploaded even older videos but has made them private. He also watches messed-up animations from channels like Actually Happened, Share My Story, etc. When he surfs Omegle, he sometimes enjoys trapping people by dressing up as a female police officer or Japanese schoolgirl. In January of 2021, he made a video titled, "the end," stating that he was going to stop sexualizing his thumbnails, saying that he initially did that as an ironic way to get his channel famous, calling it "demonetizable content that didn't get demonetized".

Personal life

Caleb was originally from Virginia but in early 2021 he later moved to Frisco, Texas, and he had a girlfriend named Shyane Cook.
