Oort (Decentralized AI)
OORT founded in 2021, is a data cloud for decentralized AI,[1][2] headquartered in New York.[3][4]
History
Chong (Max) Li is the founder of OORT.[3][5][6] It was funded by grants from Google and Microsoft[7][8] as well as venture capital firms Taisu Venture and Red Beard Ventures.[9]
Its collaborations include Seagate[10], Dell[11], Binance Smart Chain,[12][13] and Tencent Cloud.[14]
In 2024, OORT started to offer DataHub, a blockchain-based AI data collection platform, powered by its own decentralized infrastructure, OORT Storage, and OORT compute for data storage and processing (such as data clean-up and annotation).[15][16] OORT products are built upon Olympus Layer-1 protocol.[17][1]
In 2024, Githon Technology, a company of Lenovo Group that focuses on the sales and service of printers, extended its contract with OORT.[18][19]
OORT also collaborated with the US National Science Foundation.[20]
OORT launched the HumanAIx Alliance in 2025.[21][22]
