Opace Ltd is a UK open-source based Information technology company,[1] with headquarters at the Innovation Centre in Longbridge in Birmingham.[2]

History[edit]

Opace was founded in 2008 and incorporated as Opace Ltd in July 2010 by David Julian Bryan BEng (Hons), who acts as the current Managing Director and operates Opace as a family-run business.[3] Having previously been employed as an Enterprise Architect at multinational consulting corporations Capgemini and Computer Sciences Corporation, David Julian Bryan founded Opace to initially provide open-source[4] and Cloud Computing consultancy services to UK based small to medium sized businesses.[5] Since 2008 Opace has expanded to specialise in open-source content management systems and eCommerce platforms, including Magento, WordPress, Joomla and Drupal.[1]

Opace work with a number of UK based and Global clients including prominent charities such as Acorns Children's Hospice, Practical Action and Justice Upheld.[6] Other include SPI Lasers, Baker Goodchild Direct Marketing Limited, E-Lites, Aristi Limited, Compassionate Communities, Ironmongery Online, Wrights Plastics Limited, Oxford Hardware Limited, Kepier School, Dawes & Co. Limited, Really Awesome Cofee and Bournville College.[7]

Accreditation[edit]

Opace are approved on the Recommended Agency Register[8] and hold the UKITA Quality Mark[9][10] and CompTIA Accredit UK Trustmark for which they were one of the pilot companies in the testing of the scheme.[11]
