Ope Banwo is a USA-based Nigerian attorney and entrepreneur. He is known for his work with Daniel Ademinokan on the movie Ghetto Dreamz, nominated for Best Original Screenplay/Scriptwriting in the 2012 Nollywood Movie Awards. He has also created software, Mobimatic, for creating mobile apps.[1]
More recently, he launched a cryptocurrency startup, Nollytainment Limited, which seeks to use blockchain technology to support Nollywood, the Nigerian movie industry.[2]
He is married to Olunike Ajoke Olunloyo and they have 4 children together.
Early life and education[edit]
Ope Banwo was born in the Fadeyi area of Lagos, Nigeria on April 30, 1964 to Mr. Omotayo Odukoya Banwo and Mrs. Comfort Adedoja Banwo.
He attended Fadeyi Primary school in Fadeyi and Ijebu-Ode Grammar School. Banwo graduated as a lawyer from Obafemi Awolowo University and soon afterwards, obtained a Master's Degree in law from the University of Lagos.[3]
Business career[edit]
Banwo was the first MD/CEO of Dove Media, the media network operated by the Redeemed Christian Church of God.[4] Afterwards, Banwo continued his career in the entertainment industry by launching his own record label, Stingomania Records.[3]
Dr. Ope Banwo is also the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Afrinet Business Solutions, an outfit that provides internet business solutions to businesses in Africa and non-African companies doing or seeking to do business in Africa using the power of the internet.[5]
He is also a founding partner at Banwo & Igbokwe[6] law firm in Omaha, Nebraska, USA.[7]

Ope Banwo won the Los Angeles Movie Awards in 2011 for the movie, "Ghetto Dreams." An award of excellence under the Script Category.[8]
