The Katharine Ordway Natural History Study Area is a nature reserve[1] and field station along the banks of the Mississippi River in Dakota County, Minnesota.
It was purchased by Macalester College in 1967 with the help of a donation from philanthropist Katharine Ordway.[2] It is currently used for research and education by the college.
The area is home to various habitats native to Minnesota including tallgrass prairies and oak savanna woodlands.[3] While hunting and fishing are prohibited,[4] it is open to the public for hiking, volunteering,[5] and events, including a BioBlitz.[6]
