Orenda Project
Orenda Project is an EdTech company, based out of Islamabad, Pakistan which aims to transform the quality of primary education in the country.[1]
Winner of several grants including the GSMA Innovation Fund for Mobile Internet Adoption and Digital Inclusion,[2] Orenda's is using technology to bridge the digital divide between public and private educational systems through an engaging digital education model.[3]
Taleemabad Mobile App
Orenda Project released a mobile app called Taleemabad[4] in 2017, which features animated episodes as well as interactive games to promote and ensure basic literacy and numeracy among children.[5]
Additionally, the mobile app also offers several key components of the Pakistani national school curriculum from Kindergarten to Primary grades, including Urdu, English, Science and Mathematics.[6]
Support during COVID-19
In March 2020, when the Government of Pakistan closed schools due to COVID-19, as part of a nationwide lockdown, Pakistan launched the TeleSchool initiative and Taleemabad played a major part in providing content as part of the curriculum being taught on National Television.[7][8][9]
