Orquìlux is a Italian duo atmospheric black metal band from Abruzzo, Teramo, formed in 2016 founded by Nicholas Parente & Damiano Cerquito. The band was born in 2016 after various projects of other genres (for example, math rock or progressive metal), which have never debuted or continued their musical structure, but in the fall of 2017 they decided to totally change and debut in the Atmospheric / Melodic Black Metal with the so-called name Orquìlux. Since founding the band, they have released two albums: one EP and one studio albums.
In 2018 they released a small self-produced demo named "The Sunset of my last breah" a small concept album about a man in a coma, who dreams of remnants of memories based on love, nostalgia, suffering and despair.
In 2019 they finally released our self-produced debut album "The Desire To Vanish Myself" another concept based on a story of Mysteries, Sufferings, Anger, Love, Happiness and Nostalgia. Set in a ruin of a monastery, where the protagonist will have to reach a strange light, but to follow it he will realize that it will be a difficult challenge, where he will have to re-live many splendid but also suffering memories.
Orquìlux's prevalent lyrical subjects are Nature, Emotions, Suffering, Nostalgia, Individualism, Mysticism, Mythology, Dreams and Fantasy.
The band wants to try to create very emotional sounds by combining orchestras, acoustic folk with celtic instruments and Black & Doom Metal atmospheres creating a "Cinematic" sound
