Otwin Biernat (born December 3, 1981 in Graz, Styria) is an Austrian director, actor, screenwriter, film producer.[2]
Life[edit]
After finishing his high school in Graz, Biernat went to Vienna and studied drama for 5 years. After that he moved to Berlin to begin with film projects.[imdb Biernat 1] Biernat bought a camera and started to realise his own stories working in almost every position on the set and in post production. Soon other filmmakes and actors joined and Biernat was able to work with specialised crew members in different positions.[imdb Filmography 1] The first short film made for a film festival was Codewort Mr. Bean wich he produced, co-directed, edited and acted in. It was screened at the Berlinale International Film Festival in 2011. In the 99 Fire Films Awards category Codewort Mr. Bean has won the 3rd place for “Best Camera”.[99 Fire Films 1] [2] In 2011 Biernat moved to the Middle East to work as a freelance editor for international television. 3 years later he returned to Europe to continue his acting career at some theatres in Hamburg. During that time Biernat co-produced the film Homesick which had its world premiere at the Berlinale International Film Festival in 2015. For the next two years Biernat worked very intense on his first feature film Im Auge des Betrachters - Point of View which had its premiere at the 8th Jagran Film Festival in Delhi and Mumbai in 2017.[2] [3] The film has been screened at festivals worldwide such as Sofia Independent Film Festival[4], Antakya International Film Festival, Bucharest Film Awards, and many more.[5] [6] [7]
