Outpost Chess is a startup company that offers a digital platform for Chess players, tournament organizers, chess clubs, arbiters, trainers, and streamers to represent themselves, connect, and enhance their chess careers.[1][2] Founded in 2021[3] byLena Miladinovic, a Women International Master (WIM), International Arbiter (IA), and FIDE Instructor (FI), with over 20 years of experience in chess.[4] The company aims to increase the visibility of chess players so they can monetize their chess skills. Currently, Outpost is focused on helping tournament organizers with registration and payments for players. Also, Outpost Chess is organizing a monthly online chess tournaments both for amateurs and professionals.

About the founders[edit]

The Outpost team is a team of 4, combining the knowledge from the domain (chess) side, business, the technical part, and marketing creative part.[17]

Lena Miladinovic (CEO, co-founder) Lena was born in 1993 and started playing chess at the age of six[18]. She quickly became passionate about the game and started participating in local and regional tournaments. Her dedication and talent soon led her to win several national championships in Serbia and represent her country in international competitions.

She is living in the chess world for 22 years so far as a professional FIDE titled chess Player, Coach, and Arbiter[19]. Lena's passion for chess and her experience in playing, coaching, arbitrating, and organizing events inspired her to create Outpost Chess.[20]

Ilija Dragisic (COO, co-founder) has previous experience in starting companies. He founded his first company in 2010. as a branding agency in 2015. started a startup Buildcon. Besides this, he was the co-founder of the Association of Young Entrepreneurs of Serbia[21] and served as president of the organization for 6 years. The organization went from 0 to 70+ companies as members and still growing. Altogether he is in business for more than 15 years[22]

Dragutin Miladinovic (CTO, co-founder) he is in charge of the technical part of our platform and he is managing our technical team; his focus is front-end development. He has more than 10 years of banking experience.

Matt Thomas (CMO) – is a go-to-market enthusiast, he has experience in entrepreneurship, especially the marketing side. He is also helping by living in the chess world and having a chess club in his town. He was the winner of the chess-boxing world championship in 2018.

Altogether, with their different skills and knowledge, they complement each other in the field of management, marketing, IT, business.[23]
