Owen Pataki (born in 1988) is an American author who has teamed up with his sister Allison Pataki to co-author Where the Light Falls[1] published by Penguin Random House[2], which will release July 11, 2017.

Biography[edit]

Owen was born in New York.[3] He is the son[4] of former New York State Governor and 2016 presidential candidate George Pataki[5] Owen attended Cornell University where he majored in History, played Varsity Football[6] and was a member of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity. He studied film as well.

In 2001 Owen joined the Army, attended basic training at Fort Jackson (South Carolina) and officer candidate school at Fort_Benning, Georgia. Owen achieved the rank of 2nd Lieutenant[7], served as an Armor/Cavalry Officer, graduated from Airborn School, Air Assault School, and Army Reconnaissance Course. He served as a platoon Leader in a Dismounted Reconnaissance Troop. Owen was deployed to Afghanistan in 2014, serving as S1 OIC for Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion with the 10th Mountain Division, stationed at Bagram Airfield.

In 2015 Owen took part in the Reconnect Hungary Program that was co-founded by his sister Allison[8].
