The Oxford University Society of Belgium was launched in 1993 at the Brussels Residence of Britain’s Permanent Representative to the European Union, John Kerr, Baron Kerr of Kinlochard, in the presence of the University’s Chancellor, Baron Jenkins.[1] Its object is the advancement of the purposes and interests of the University of Oxford, and it enables Oxford alumni living in Belgium to maintain contact with the University and with each other.[2]
Membership of the Society comprises those with a degree from Oxford University or who have studied and taught there.

It regularly organises debates as well as mixers with other universities, such as King’s College London, the École Nationale d’Administration, and Harvard.[3]
