OzClubbers is an online electronic music magazine and community platform dedicated to showcasing electronic music, artists and events from Australia. OzClubbers' editorial team provides news, reviews, music and interviews. The website also provides an online community and serves as the launching portal for the OzClubbers Official Podcast.

The organisation is based out of both Melbourne, Australia, with additional staff working from Brisbane and Sydney.

History[edit]

OzClubbers was originally founded as NewcastleParty.com in 2001 by Adam Spencer. In 2003 it expanded to include Gold Coast and Sydney and the Central Coast and was rebranded as OzClubbers using a DJing Koala as its official logo. By 2007, OzClubbers has included Brisbane in its list of cities. The original site provided news and information relating to the Australian clubbing scene. It also provided photos from clubs as well as an online community.

OzClubbers launched a sub-brand hrmny in 2004 which was dedicated to showcasing upcoming and well known local talent, which included a monthly mixtape and pre-recorded streaming video from electronic music events in Newcastle. By 2007, this hrmny brand has expanded to live video streaming of events and local DJ talent in Brisbane, and a monthly event called Arvo Funke. In 2012, OzClubbers was the official streaming partner for the world record DJ set attempt by DJ Hertz in Brisbane.

In 2012, the website closed its online community citing difficulty competing with other local communities such as InTheMix, Resident Advisor, and global communities such as Facebook and rebranded as an entertainment promotions organisation only.

In November 2016, 2 years the final closure of the InTheMix forums, the website relaunched as an entertainment news media portal for the electronic music community in Australia, once again providing news, reviews, music and interviews, plus clubbing photos, the online community and a blogging portal for members. The relaunch also included a revised flat version of the original Koala logo.

In 2018, the website underwent a complete redesign to provide a more fluid experience, including better mobile and tablet support, with the news, events, reviews, and interviews becoming the focal point of the new website, dropping photos and blogging options, however still providing an online community.

Podcasts[edit]

The OzClubbers Official Podcast was launched in January 2020 and comprises of a weekly mix of electronic music local Australian DJs, interviews with national and international artists, and a weekly Events Wrap-Up of the best events in each major city in Australia.
