Pabulum Entertainment is an American multi-media entertainment and production company based in Los Angeles, California. Pabulum was founded in September 2016 by Betty Bema and actress Gloria Altonnia. The production company is known for digital series Bridges Burnt, Tables Turnt and television series Ten Out Of 1O featured on The Arroyo Channel and several streaming services.[1]

History[edit]

Pabulum Entertainment was founded in 2016 by writer and producer Betty Bema and actress Gloria Altonnia, also known as the Pabulum Partners. The company was established in response to the need for more diverse voices in the Hollywood pipeline.[2] In early 2016, the Pabulum Partners raised $4,000 for the first project under the newly formed entertainment banner.[3]

Pabulum Entertainment would develop, produce, and distribute the pilot episode for Bridges Burnt, Tables Turnt, a series about a young woman navigating the college dating scene with her group of eccentric friends after being betrayed by her high school sweetheart. The television series, starring actors Gloria Altonnia, Stephaun Pender and Andrew C. English Jr., was written and produced by the Pabulum Partners and directed by Betty Bema. The pilot was released on March 5, 2019.[4]

The production company ventured into the entertainment news medium in 2016 with the launch of subsidiary The MouthSoap, a digital media and news platform featuring interviews, reviews and entertainment news centered on people of color. In August 2018, the company established two divisions that included audio-visual podcasts The MouthSoap: Thinking Out Loud and The MouthSoap: TV, Film & Foolishness.[5]

In January 2021, Pabulum Entertainment collaborated with The Arroyo Channel for the countdown talk show called Ten Out Of 1O.[6] The television series premiered on March 10, 2021 and was viewable via cable at Spectrum TV and AT&T U-verse, and on Roku, Fire TV, and Apple TV.[7]
