Pakistan Union Norway
Pakistan Union Norway (PUN) is a non-profit social and cultural organization operating in Norway since the 1990s. PUN was established in 1995 under the leadership of Qamar Iqbal. The organization has historically operated under a mission statement concerned with the social issues of Norwegian people of Pakistani background.
PUN also aims to promote Pakistani culture in Norway. The activities of PUN are carried out continuously throughout the year. Furthermore, it works to resolve the problems of Norwegian Pakistanis. The organization celebrates important days of Pakistan and Norway. In particular, it hosts the annual anniversary of the Independence Day of Pakistan in Oslo during the month of August. The aforementioned event is attended by political, literary, social, and cultural figures from both Norway and Pakistan alike as well as the wider Norwegian-Pakistani community.

Pakistan Union Norway was established by Qamar Iqbal in order to maintain social activities for Norwegian Pakistanis. This relationship commenced in 1960s, when Pakistani migrants first migrated to Norway in relatively substantial numbers. During this decade, a large fraction of Pakistanis who arrived in Norway in search of careers, were faced with the challenges of integration in a a country. The problems included issues related to housing, work permits and other legal documents.
The addressing of these challenges were performed by Chaudhry Mohammad Aslam. Pakistan Workers Welfare Union Norway (PWWUN) was led by Aslam after the unions first election in 1973. Aslam thus forth led the union along with associates in 1973, of which include Chaudhry Akram, Mr Saeed Qaisar and Mr Naveed Khawar. After Aslams passing the, Pakistan Union Norway continued the mission statement.
