Palisene

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Palisene is a large, master-planned retail and residential community by Phoenix-based Westcor, a subsidiary of The Macerich Company, on the border of Northern Phoenix and Scottsdale, it opened in the Fall of 2009 and is one of the largest "lifestyle centers" in the nation. Originally named Paradise Ridge, Palisene is a large community with 72 acres (290,000 m2), luxury retail and 2,200 acres (8.9 km2) of homes, offices, resort, eateries, and golf course surrounding the luxury shopping center. It has over 1 million square feet (90,000 m²) of open-air retail.

Palisene features three department stores, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Barneys New York. Flanking these luxury department stores are a myriad of new and familiar upscale designers to the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. Westcor proposed to over 100 luxury designers in New York over the 2005/2006 Winter with unconfirmed interest from Hermès, Prada, Giorgio Armani, Barneys Co-Op, and BVLGARI.

Palisene adjoins the CityNorth lifestyle center across 56th Street to the west, which itself adjoins the Desert Ridge Marketplace lifestyle center to the west and adjoins the One Scottsdale lifestyle center across Scottsdale Road. Combined, these four centers stretch for three miles (5 km), offers four anchor stores, several hotels (including the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort), and almost 5 million square feet (460,000 m²) of retail space, making the entire complex the world's largest lifestyle center, and one of the top ten largest malls in the world.

Several familiar designers have also expressed interest in opening their second store in Scottsdale here at Palisene. Tiffany's representatives have stated that Tiffany's hopes to open a second store in the Phoenix area by 2008. Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Escada, and Cartier are also opened their second stores in the Valley at this upscale North Scottsdale location.
