Pandemia is a Czech death metal band from Cheb. Formed in 1995, the group was founded by guitarist Alex and bass player Jarda. Pandemia has released 5 full-length albums to date to an international audience.
The band is known for fast-paced 'pure' death metal and is one of the top Czech death metal bands to break out of the country.[1] [2][3]. Their style references bands such as Morbid Angel, Vader and Death. Pandemia has toured extensively and played over 600 concerts during its course, either headlining or supporting acts such as Morbid Angel[4], Bolt Thrower, Death, Vader or Incantation[5]. Their pioneering two Latin American tours in 2003 and 2005 lasted for over 4 months and saw the band playing more than 50 concerts in 20 different countries of the South, Central and North American continents [6]. In 2007 the band released a DVD called Pandemic Mission to Latin America documenting the tour. [7]
Pandemia has worked with several well known producers such as Andy Classen [8], Russ Russell [9] or Waldemar Sorychta [10].
Pandemia has released two new songs since their reunion in 2020 [11] and is currently working on their 6th full-length album.
