Early life[edit]

Pt. Vishwanath was born in a family of musicians of Meerut, he is the 4th generation musician in his family. Pt. Vishwanath has devoted his life in achieving great heights[weasel words] in the field of Hindustani classical vocal music, representing the well known[weasel words] Kirana Gharana.

Pt. Vishwanath's forte[weasel words] is not only khayal but also Thumri, Dadra and Bhajan. He started his sangeet sadhana[clarification needed] at a very young age under the tutelage of his father the Late Shri. Om Prakash Ji and elder brother the Late Pt. Jagannath Ji the shehnai vadak. He also learned from the Late Sarangi Nawaz, Ustaad Banne Khan's son, and Ustad Altaf Hussein Khan sahib later on he had fortune of learning from Pt. Mani Prasad Ji, under the Guru Shishya Parampra. He has performed at many conferences in India and abroad and received reviews.

Kirana Gharana[edit]

Kirana Gharana is one of the most prolific[weasel words] Indian classical khayal gharanas[clarification needed] and is concerned with perfect[weasel words] intonation of notes. Ustad Abdul Karim khan was a pioneer and founder of Kirana gharana. Kirana gharana boasts of many luminaries[weasel words] in the field of music like Sawai Gandharva, Bharat Ratna Pt. Bhimsen Joshi Ji, Smt. Gangubai Hangal, Hirabai Barodekar, Roshanara Beghum.
