Paolo De Benedetti ( Asti, December 23, 1927 - Asti, December 11, 2016..[1]) was an Italian theologian and Bible scholar. Born of a Jewish father and a Roman Catholic mother, he was a professor of Judaism at the Theological Faculty of Northern Italy in Milan and of Old Testamentt at the Departments of Religious Sciences of the Universities of Urbino and Trento[1] and a major bridge builder between Judaism and Christianity[2]
Paolo De Benedetti concentrated some of his biblical and theological studies on the theology of animals, i.e. on the possibility, in a Judeo-Christian perspective, that animals and all living beings can fall within the divine plan of salvation realized for man.[1][3][4][5]
