Paradigm Malibu is a residential treatment center for adolescents based in Malibu, California in the United States. Paradigm Malibu was established in 2005 and provides residential treatment for mental health, substance abuse, Internet addiction, gaming addiction and other issues for teenagers.[1] It is one of very few adolescent residential treatment centers in the United States[not in citation given] that is accredited by the Joint Commission[2] and has been recognized as one of America's best facilities for addiction recovery.[3] Paradigm Malibu won the award for teen mental health treatment for the second time in 2014.[4][5]
Paradigm Malibu was named for its claim to shift the paradigm of adolescent treatment,[6] which they explain is a procedure which involves analysis of each potential client individually by a trained mental health professional to ensure an appropriate fit between the teen and the youth who have demonstrated a history of threat, or who would compromise the safety of others, are directed to an appropriate provider. Their primary focus is the on patient's strength rather than their symptoms.[7]
