PARADISE was an offspring musical project, featuring three former members of the award winning Mercy River Boys. The band performed from 1985-1991 and was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1989 for their third album, Invade The Darkness
The group performed across the United States and had multiple hits on Christian music radio. Their first album, God Bless The U.S.A., was more of a continuation of their Christian country music roots that included a few of their hit songs from the two Mercy River Boys albums from 1979 and 1982. Their second album, Hired Guns (Englewood Records, 1987), was a dramatic departure from the first album, transforming the band into a more Contemporary Christian music genre. Paradise released two more albums before breaking up in 1991.
In 2015, the three original members of Paradise, Emory Atkins, Danny Hollis, Ronny Ricks, and all the former band members of the Mercy River Boys were inducted into the Texas Gospel Music Association Hall Of Fame.
