Parcels are an Australian band composed of Louie Swain (keyboards), Patrick Hetherington (keyboards), Noah Hill (bass), Anatole "Toto" Serret (drums) and Jules Crommelin (guitar).[1] The band formed in 2014 while at high school in Byron Bay, Australia, and are now based in Berlin, Germany.[2][3]
Parcels are signed to the French label Kitsuné.[4] Their single "Overnight", released in 2017, was produced by Daft Punk, who heard them at their first performance in France.[3][5]
The band's first EP, while they were starting out in electronic music, was Clockscared. Their second, Hideout was entirely computer-produced.[1][3][6]
Their sound has since been described as having "an unmistakeable penchant for the 70s [...] fusing together the old and the new".[3] They describe themselves as "sort of a blend between electro-pop and disco-soul".[2]
On Sunday 25 June 2017 they performed at the Glastonbury Festival, at the Silver Hayes Pussy Parlure.[7] Their first appearance on US television was performing 'Overnight' on Conan in September 2017.[8] On 8 January 2018, they were interviewed and performed "Overnight", "Anotherclock" and "Older" live on BBC Radio 1.[9]
