Paromita Das

Prof. Dr. Paromita Das is an academician, historian and literary translator from Assam, India. In 2007, she won Sahitya Akademi's Golden Jubilee Prize for her translation of the Assamese poet Parvati Prasad Baruwa's poems into English.[1][2] She is a professor and former Head of the Department of History at Gauhati University.[3] She is also the chief editor of the Journal of History, Art and Archaeology.[4] She has made seminal contributions to the study of terracotta sculptures in India and to popularisation of Assamese poetry.
