Path Network is a global private company which specializes in internet technologies[2] (IT) and cyber network defense. Headquartered in Simi Valley, California, the company is most known for the project: Path Platform[3]. Path Platform is used by data analysts,[1] governmental agencies[4][5] and social media influencers[6] as up-time and performance monitoring service.[7] The company was founded in January 2018 by Marshal Webb and E.J. Hilbert located in Tempe, Arizona.[8]
In April 2018, Path launched a Chrome plug-in extension called Path Miner.[3] Path Miner generates and reward users with tokens in exchange for excess bandwidth[9] optimizing network performance. Path Network's software is designed to combine network analytics with blockchain technology. [10]
Chief Technology Officer, Marshal Webb, announced on Inc that the company would pursue combing blockchain with big data, "Blockchains will give you greater confidence in the integrity of the data you see. Immutable entries, consensus-driven timestamping, audit trails, and certainty about the origin of data (e.g. a sensor or a kiosk) are all areas where you will see improvement as blockchain technology." [10] The networking system is based off peer-to-peer (P2P) to provide up-time monitoring, real-time alerts for DDoS attacks, content delivery network (CDN), performance monitoring, and border gateway patrol routing.

Marshal Webb founded Path in the beginning of January 2018 as a network tool that provides insight to websites, applications, and network analytics.[11] In mid January 2018, two former ex-hackers joined Path in platform development. Eric Taylor became Path's network security advisor[12], along with Matthew Flannery as director of technology.[12]
In April 2018, Path teams up with a former Federal Bureau of Investigation(FBI) agent E.J. Hilbert. Prior to his role at Path, E.J. has served as Vice President, Cyber Security Division at Gavin De Becker and Associates in addition to spending eight years as a Special Agent for FBI based in Southern California.[13] Towards the end of April 2018, E.J. Hilbert was promoted to CEO[12].
Path network's headquarters is now located in Simi Valley, California.

On 21 December 2017, the domain name path.network was registered.[14]
Path launched its first international group chat on Telegram in January 2018.
On March 1, 2018 PATH is officially listed on Icobench; Path cryptocurrency's hard cap is of $47,600,000 United States dollar (USD) Path accepts Ethereum[15]

- During March 2018, Path.network launches a Telegram group based in the United States of America(USA) with English being primary language in chat. The group currently holds 8,100 members as of May 27th, 2018.
- On May 28th 2018, Path.network's Telegram group exceeds 33,300 members in the International community chat.[16]

Platform[edit]
Path's transparent monitoring node/miner applications that run via web browser plugin, desktop, iOS & Android, and Linux OS. Clients exchange PATH a centralized platform for performance monitoring services. Users running Path monitoring nodes are rewarded PATH for completing various monitoring jobs (i.e. sharing their bandwidth) and the results from the participating distributed monitoring nodes are displayed to the client on Path's panel.[17] Path's digital currency is created as a reward through a process called mining.[8][18]
Path agents allow sysadmins to view incoming network traffic, net neutrality policies, cyber-attacks such as DDoS and DNS poisoning.
Mining
Path Miner node clients are able to access this platform supported through browser plug-ins[3], Android devices, and Apple products along with OS clients. The platform monitors network bandwidth while generating PATH digital currency based on network performance.[19]
Mining/Monitoring Nodes
Path mining nodes are rewarded Path Tokens (PATH) for completing monitoring tasks and the results are aggregated on the Path panel.
Monitoring node client forwards encrypted information it collects to Path's database without impacting the monitoring node user's internet browsing or computational activities. The nodes will be rewarded with a portion of a Path Token after it completes the information forwarding process. [20]Token payout is every 250,000 tasks on software running the Path Miner platform.
