Patricia Bebia Mawa is a Nigerian-Canadian television executive, co-owner of the 24-hour Afroglobal Television channel, and media personality. She is the director and producer of over 15 television programs including The Visionaries, The Golden Button and Standing Ovation. She also hosts the Planet Africa TV show of Omni Television.[2]

Biography[edit]

Patricia was born in Nigeria. She started her career in Nigeria at the National Testing Agency (NTA) Calabar as host of Gospel Music Therapy. She also hosted several TV shows including, Thinking About You and Lunch Date at the DBN Television in Lagos, Nigeria.

Prior to her appointment as an executive vice president of Silvertrust Media and Afroglobal Television, she served as president and CEO of Planet Africa Group and Broad Frame Media.

She is currently serving as the writer and director of the television drama series Omobella Palace" which premieres on Afroglobal Television.[3]

Mawa is listed in Who's Who in Black Canada. She is also named in 100 Accomplished Black Women. In 2020 she was appointed as chair of the Reelworld Screen Institute. Later in 2021 she was appointed as chair of the Advisory board of Trebas College of the Global University Systems.[4]

Patricia along with her husband Moses have been featured on the Cable News Network (CNN). In 2016, the duo launched a 24-hour television channel Afroglobal Television. In 2018, she co-authored the 150 Extraordinary Canadians Legacy book in collaboration Justin Trudeau, the prime minister of Canada.[4][5]
