Patricia Harris Seeley
Patricia Harris Seeley is a Canadian director, screenwriter, and writer.
Early life[edit]
Seeley grew up on a farm near Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, and now resides in Calgary, Alberta.[1]
Career[edit]
Prior to entering the film industry, she wrote as a freelance writer, authoring the children's book Portus Potter Was Loose! as well as writing for several science-fiction magazines.[1][2]
Seeley completed a program in 1997 at the Canadian Film Centre where she was a writer while in the TV workshop program.[3] After applying four times, she was accepted into the Women in the Director's Chair program at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Banff, Alberta.[2][4] She currently is co-owns Ageless Pictures film company with her husband, Trevor Seeley.[5]
Her second short film Superhero Wannabe, released in 2004, won the Best Film award at the Seven Minute Film Festival and was featured at film festivals across Canada including at the 2004 Toronto International Film Festival.[6][2] In Television, Seeley was a nominee at the 2020 Rosie Awards for her work on Caution: May Contain Nuts, as well as a nominee for a Gemini Award for her work on X-Weighted.[7][2]
Seeley's feature film debut was with the 2022 horror film, The Legend of La Llorona, released by Saban Films. Starring Autumn Reeser, Antonio Cupo, and Danny Trejo, the film received negative reviews from critics.[8]
