Patricia Sauthoff
Dr. Patricia Sauthoff 司徒雛菊, is a historian, writer and translator. She is an assistant professor of History at Hong Kong Baptist University.[1]
Academic career
Sauthoff received her PhD from SOAS under the supervision of Ulrich Pagel,[2] James Mallinson[3] and Renate Söhnen-Thieme.[4][5] She received an MA from SOAS in History and an MA from St. John's College in Eastern Classics and BAs in Religion and English from the University of Colorado Boulder.[6] Sauthoff has taught at the College of Santa Fe, Nalanda University,[7] and the University of Alberta.[8]
Controversy
In 2017, Sauthoff became the target of BJP criticism[9] for her course at Nalanda University on the History and Politics of Yoga.[10][11]
