The Patriki Film Festival is an annual international film festival, operating out of Moscow since 2018.[1] The founders of the festival are Marina Jigalova and Alexey Bokov. The festival’s Board of Trustees include Konstantin Khabensky and Pavel Lungin, among others.[2]
History[edit]
The festival originated on Patriarch Ponds, a historically significant cultural place, in 2018.
In 2018-2019, film screenings, meetups, charity events, guided tours along the area were organized.[3][4] In 2019, the festival opened with Walking the Streets of Moscow.[5]
In 2020, the festival was held online and in an offline format.[6][7] Moscow Museum of Modern Art, Moscow Pushkin Drama Theatre, the GUM cinema have been providing their areas for film screenings. The main event was the premiere screening of Doctor Lisa feature film and a meetup with its director Oksana Karas and actress Chulpan Khamatova.[8] Anna Melikian's feature film The Three with Konstantin Khabensky, Viktoria Isakova, and Yulia Peresild was premiered.[9] Every year, as part of the film festival, charity football matches are organized, supporting the wards of the Konstantin Khabensky Charity Foundation.[10]
For 2022, the festival takes place in an online international format.[11][12] The chairman of the jury is Darren Aronofsky.[13][14][15][16][17] This year, Aleksei German's feature film House Arrest was screened as part of the festival.[18]
