Patruni Sastry, popularly known as Patruni Chidananda Sastry or Suffocated art Specimen.[1][2][3]is a Expressionist Dancer, Performance Artist, Visual Artist[4] [5][6] , Model[7] [8][9] and drag queen[10][11][12]

Biography

Sastry started dancing at the age of 5. He was inspired by Ramya Krishnan from Padayappa in his initial days[13]. Later from the Expressionist movement[14].He later learned Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, Odissi, Butoh, Contemporary dance [15]. Sastry was inspired from Daniel Lismore, Austin Young[16] and started performing Tranimal drag[17][18]. Sastry performed at Hyderabad Literature festival[19], Namma Pride,The Lalit Ashok, Lamakaan[20],Shilparamam, Public Spaces[21], and also founded Dragvanti[22][23] and also acted in a short film 'Polar Night' which is based on the Polar Night effect by Rakesh Asileti[24].Sastry uses dance to talk about social topics such as sex education[25], queer activism[26]and women empowerment[27][28].Sastry identified himself as gender fluid.[29][30][31][32]
