Production[edit]

In August 2018, it was announced James Hong was working on writing and producing a feature screenplay about a grandfather and his estranged granddaughter who realize, through an unexpected adventure that pushes them into another world, that family relationships are the key to survival.[3]

Shortly after, around October, James enlisted the help of up and coming filmmakers Zack Ward and Ace Underhill. It was announced in November 2018 that newcomer Michelle Fang had been cast in the titular role of Patsy lee. [1]

Filming[edit]

Production began in late 2018 on location in Globe, Arizona, November 8 through November 14 .[4] The crew then relocated back to LA and completed principle photography at Brilliant Screen Studios and La Cañada, Flintridge, California.

Director Zack Ward on the film: “I’m really excited about it because it’s done in an ’80s style with practical effects. Our creatures are actual existing creatures, not just digital manifestations. We have talking lizard people and tortoises and chicken people and rat people and witches and magic. It’s fun.”[5]
