Paul Castro Jr. is an American actor, voice actor, writer, producer, and director. He is best known for playing Rindo Kanade in Square Enix's NEO: The World Ends with You and Dragon in Studio Chizu's Belle.

Early life and education[edit]

Paul was born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised on the Jersey Shore.[1] He attended Monmouth University in New Jersey and graduated from New York University Tisch School of the Arts studying at the Meisner Studio.[2]

Career[edit]

Paul has appeared in numerous shorts and independent films including popular titles such as The Skeleton Twins (2014) opposite Bill Hader and Ty Burrell, People, Places, Things (2015) with Jemaine Clement, and The Garden Left Behind (2019) with Ed Asner and Michael Madsen.[3][4][5] In Theatre, Paul appeared as Kane in the Off-Broadway revival of Love and Human Remains at Playwrights Horizons produced by Jennifer Rudolph.[6][7] Paul was the recipient of the "Robert Pastorelli Rising Star Award" at the 2014 Garden State Film Festival.[8] At the same festival, his short film Aeris that he wrote, directed, produced, and starred in went on to win Best Narrative Short Film.[9] As a producer, his film Madonna and the Breakfast Club a documentary story of Madonna's struggling days in New York with her first band "Breakfast Club," leading up to her first solo record deal, was eventually picked up by Hulu for distribution.[10][11]

Paul has appeared in TV series including God Friended Me, Limitless, and Blue Bloods.[12][13][14] In Anime, Paul voiced Dragon/Kei in the Studio Chizu movie Belle, Allegro in the Netflix Anime Original Series Vampire in the Garden by Wit Studio, and Rikuya Yoshida in High-Rise Invasion.[15][16][17] Paul was the main character, Rindo Kanade, in NEO: The World Ends with You, the sequel to Square Enix's The World Ends with You.[18][19]
