MTV UK[edit]
Hourican worked as head of talent and music at MTV UK in London.[2]
YouTube[edit]
Between 2015-2019, Hourican worked at YouTube, New York.[3] From 2015, Hourican was the music curation lead until 2017.[4] He was then promoted to become head of international artist marketing at YouTube until 2019 when he left to join Tiktok.[5]
TikTok[edit]
Hourican joined TikTok in November 2019 as head of music operations, UK and Europe.[1] During this time, his main role was music strategy and its execution in the UK and Europe. He served in this capacity until 2022 when he was promoted to Global Head of Music Operations at TikTok.[3][6] His new responsibilities included leading TikTok’s music campaigns globally as well as coordinate the working relationship between TikTok and artists and labels.[5][6] On May 2023, he announced a new partnership between TikTok and artists such as The Jonas Brothers, Miguel and Niall Horan to launch #NewMusic.[7]
