Paul Klimos (Arabic: بول قليموس; born June 10, 1990) is an attorney at law and civic activist.[1].

Early Life and Education[edit]

Paul Klimos was born in Beirut, Lebanon into the family of Michel and Lamise Klimos. Alongside his sister Raïssa-Maria, he completed high school education at Collège des Sœurs des Saints Cœurs in Ghazir, Lebanon. He holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Columbia Law School, and both a Master of Laws and a Bachelor of Laws from Université Saint-Joseph (USJ)[2].

Career[edit]

Klimos is part of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe's Technology Companies Group where he focuses his legal practice on emerging technologies, start-ups and venture capital[3]. Earlier in his career, he practiced law at DLA Piper[4], and held roles at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and the Central Bank of Lebanon.

Klimos sits on the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council, and is a member of the forum’s expert network[5].  Recognized as a “Global Shaper” by the World Economic Forum, he was later elected as Curator of the community in Silicon Valley[6][7].

Klimos served as Lions Clubs International's D351 representative to the United Nations, and as Chairperson of UN75 pursuant to an appointment by the Council of Governors of Lions Clubs International's MD4. An alumnus of the US Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program, Klimos was invited by the Permanent Mission of Lebanon to the United Nations to attend multiple sessions of the UNGA and to advise on topics including gender equality and women empowerment[8][9][10].

Honors & Awards[edit]

Klimos is a 40 under 40 awardee[13][14][15] and a recipient of Lions Clubs International's "Centennial Award", "Best Recruiter Award" and "International Membership Key". He is also a recipient of the "Opération 7e Jour" award from his alma mater, Université Saint-Joseph (USJ), in recognition of his efforts in co-founding Lebanon's first student-led legal clinic.
