He founded Joseph, Aleem & Slowik, LLC[1], a healthcare law practice based in Atlanta, Georgia. Yussuf has defended more than $500 million in civil healthcare fraud claims. He also co-founded the Aleem Law Firm[2], a plaintiff’s trial practice specializing in personal injury. Yussuf previously worked as a transactional lawyer (private equity and M&A) at Weil, Gotshal & Manges, LLP.

Yussuf is the author of the book Small Law; Big Success: How to Use Business Niche Specialization to Grow a Multi-Million Dollar Law Practice[3] and has written articles on multiple legal topics, including healthcare law, business law, and civil practice. His work has appeared in Yahoo Finance,[4] Law.com, Law360,[5] the Daily Report,[6] the Georgia Bar Journal,[7] and Emory Law School’s Corporate Governance Law Review.

While at Harvard, Yussuf was a member of the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau where he represented clients on a pro bono basis. He also served as an extern for the Chief Justice of the Colorado Supreme Court. At Columbia Law School, Yussuf was named a James Kent Scholar, and was awarded the Jeffrey Williams Memorial Prize, which is granted annually to the law student who writes the best paper in critical theory.[8] He is currently a Sloan Fellow (M.S.) at Stanford Business School.

In 2020, he was named "Georgia’s Distinguished Leader" by the Daily Report for his disaster relief efforts in response to Hurricane Dorian.[6] He is a member of Emory Law School’s Law Firm Externship Program where he mentors students on private practice. Yussuf volunteers at the Children’s Hospital of Atlanta and the Atlanta VA Hospital.
