Paysera is a Lithuanian-born financial technology company providing payment gateway services[4][5][6] and serves as an alternative to traditional banks.[7][8]
A major part of Paysera's revenue comes from e-commerce payment processing.[9] The company also provides a multicurrency bank account[10][11] to send and receive money online and via an app.[12]The company issues Visa debit cards[13] that can be added to Google Pay, Samsung Pay[14]and Apple Pay.[15][16]
The main founder and shareholder of the company is Kostas Noreika, a Lithuanian entrepreneur who established the company in 2004.[17]Paysera secured an Electronic Money Institution licence in 2012, allowing the company to issue e-money in the EU/EEA area.[18]Paysera also holds licences in Kosovo[19]and Albania.[20]Paysera network companies also operate in Latvia, Estonia, Romania, Bulgaria, Spain, and Ukraine.[21]
By the end of 2020, over 12 000 e-shops were accepting payments via the company’s payment gateway.
