Pear OS is an operating system based on Kubuntu. It is developed by a non-profit organization in Canada and is inspired by macOS.
Project information
Pear OS was originally developed as a web OS starting in the mid-2010s. It also evolved into a launcher for Android, then a full operating system derived from Kubuntu Linux.
Latest version
Pear OS 20.04.1 (codename "Ikon") was launched on 2022-10-24. It was based on Kubuntu 20.04.
