Davide Arneodo (born 5 September 1982), better known by his stage name Perdurabo, is an Italian musician, composer, and record producer. His work combines elements of electronic, classical, and experimental music, often blending acoustic instruments with analog synthesizers.

He is a member of the Italian alternative rock band Marlene Kuntz and has collaborated with artists and producers including Gareth Jones, Jochen Arbeit of Einstürzende Neubauten, and Jörg Wähner of Apparat.[1]

Early life and education

Arneodo began studying classical violin at the age of ten. He earned a degree in 2003 from the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory of Music in Turin.[2][3] He later expanded his studies to include electronic music,[4] developing an interest in sound experimentation and synthesis. His exploration of analog synthesizers and electronic music[5] led him to investigate the relationship between electronic and acoustic elements.[6][7]

Career

Marlene Kuntz (2007–2014)

In September 2007, Arneodo became a member of the Italian alternative rock band Marlene Kuntz.[8] His role in the band is reflected in his use of various instruments, such as the Moog synthesizer, which contributed to shaping Marlene Kuntz's later sound. His close work with Moog synthesizers resulted in an endorsement deal.[9]

Perdurabo and Solo Career (2014–2023)

In 2014, Arneodo relocated to Berlin. During this period, he began developing his solo project Perdurabo, collaborating with German drummer Jörg Wähner of Apparat and British singer Roman Rappak of Breton. This collaboration culminated in the recording of the Komponent EP[10] at Funkhaus Nalepastraße in Berlin.

Later, this was followed by The Time Traveller in 2021, a collaborative album with Tomat (!K7).[11] His next piece, "10 Pianos", was composed at the Piatino Piano Factory, a historic piano manufacturer in Turin, where he composed a track with ten different pianos in ten hours. Both "The Answer" and "10 Pianos" were featured on the official Piano Day 2021 and 2022 playlists curated by Nils Frahm.

Magnetar (2024–present)

In 2024, Arneodo released his debut solo album Magnetar,[12][13][14][15] mixed at Strongroom Studios in London by Gareth Jones, known for his work with Depeche Mode, Erasure, and Yann Tiersen. The album, which took ten years to produce, reflects a long process of experimentation and refinement.[16][17] Jones applied his expertise in blending electronic and experimental elements, contributing to the album's sound. Magnetar was noted for its fusion of electronic, rock, and experimental music, with the magazine Clash praising its originality[18], while Rolling Stone highlighted its distinct artistic vision.[19]

The album featured collaborations with Jochen Arbeit (Einstürzende Neubauten), Jörg Wähner (Apparat), and guest vocalists Roman Rappak (Miro Shot), Chloe Charles,[20] Daudi Matsiko, and Tom Adams.[21] It was mastered at Metropolis Studios in London by Matt Colton, best known for his work with Thom Yorke, James Blake, and Fontaines D.C.

In 2025, Arneodo released Magnetar (Unpublished Works),[22] a collection of tracks that were left off of Magnetar.
