Perfect Soul are a sibling pop duo consisting of Sam and Chelsea Watts. First formed mid 2018 in the city of Bristol, England, the brother-sister duo is shaped from Chelsea's vocals, together with the production and lyrics of her brother Sam.[1]
History[edit]
Perfect Soul began performing together as a covers band,[2] providing live music at restaurants, weddings and other private events throughout South-West England.[3] From performing live the band developed a fan base through their pop-driven sound.[4] Wanting to grow more listeners they began to focus more on their songwriting and original material.[5][6]
Growing up Chelsea and Sam would often write and record songs together.[7] The two had previously worked on various songwriting projects. In 2014 they released their first early singles, this included “Believe Me”,[8] which received support from BBC Music Introducing.[9][10][11]
The band has also collaborated with other artists, particularly dance music producers, combining Sam's songwriting with Chelsea's vocal abilities. Chelsea's vocals have been at the forefront of various dance music releases, notably “Ultraviolet”,[12] and “Shadow”[13] from Fred V & Grafix of Hospital Records.
In 2020 the duo released their debut EP “Lost The Love”.[14][15] It was released through digital retailers on August 7, 2020. The EP features four tracks, in the week prior to release the title track, "Lost The Love" premiered as a showcase on BBC Music Introducing in the West,[16] it was also featured as The Bristol Music Show's tune of the week on BCfm Radio.[17]
