Persia Monir (born Karen Jamileh Hale; September 27, 1958) is an American pornographic film actress, adult model and former stripper. She has been running her own adult website, "Persia's Palace", since 1997.[1] Before being involved in the adult industry, Monir worked as a nurse and then a stripper. Due to her age, Monir has been called a MILF, a name that she has embraced herself.[2]
Early life[edit]
Monir was born Karen Jamileh Hale on September 27, 1958 in Oklahoma City.[3][4] Monir's father, who worked as a medic,[5] was Iranian, immigrated to the United States in the 1950s. Monir's mother was Anglo-American.[6] She moved to Memphis, Tennessee with her family in the early 1960s.[4]
Career[edit]
Monir started stripping in 1992, and moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to make more income.[7] While working as a stripper, she had a premonititon that a person was going to die in a club she was working in.[8]. As a nurse, Monir managed to save a person who collapsed in the club.[8] While Monir was working for The Score Group, still by the name of Karen Jamileh Hale,[6] she was told to change her name. Due to her Iranian background, she chose the name "Persia Monir".
Monir started her website, Persia's Palace, in 1997, which showed softcore pornography.[5] In 2004, Monir started doing hardcore pornography and has since fully switched.
Monir has additionally spoken out against websites which provide pornographic content for free.[9] Her own website is a paid subscription website.
